Visa Information
You can check online to see if you need an entry visa for Lithuania. If you require a visa, it is recommended you apply at least six weeks before your travel. We can provide you with an invitation letter upon request after you have registered for the meeting.
Lithuania is within the Schengen area. For 2026, visitors from EU, EEA, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein do not need a visa or any travel authorisation to enter Lithuania, as they benefit from full freedom of movement. Other nationals will generally need a Schengen (Type C) visa unless their country has a visa-free arrangement, in which case they may stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period without a visa.
Note that the EU's upcoming ETIAS travel authorisation, which will eventually apply to visa-exempt non-EU nationals, has not yet launched and currently has no confirmed start date, so it is not required at this time. For any visit, it is crucial to use the official Lithuanian Migration Department website to check specific requirements for your nationality before you travel.
Additionally, you may require a transit visa if you are travelling to Lithuania via a country that is not within the Schengen area. Your airline should be able to provide you with transit visa information where required. Here is a list of Lithuanian embassies that can help you apply for a visa.
